[농업경제] Promoting Innovation in Argentina's Agri-food Sector - Executive Summary

Argentina’s agriculture sector has achieved many innovation successes, particularly related to on-farm production technologies such as no-till soy. However, maintaining the sector’s global competitiveness while realizing the sector’s environmental and social objectives will require both new kinds of innovation and broader rates of adoption. This analysis builds on a literature review and structured interviews with key sector stakeholders to analyze the current gaps and needs related to innovation in Argentina’s agricultural innovation system. The authors find that, despite an abundance of promising agricultural technologies that have been developed, rates of adoption for new technologies are highly uneven. This report takes a “value chain” approach to agricultural innovation, given the important synergies to be had when technology adoption reaches from the farm all the way to the consumer.
