This report documents MicroZAMOD, the SOUTHMOD micrososimulation model developed for Zambia. The report describes the different tax–benefit policies in place, how the microsimulation model takes advantage of these different provisions, and the database on which the model runs. It concludes with a validation of MicroZAMOD results against external data sources.

MicroZAMOD has been developed in cooperation with the Zambia Institute for Policy Analysis and Research (ZIPAR), and Southern African Social Policy Research Insights (SASPRI). The results presented in this report are derived using MicroZAMOD version 2.4 running on EUROMOD software. For further information on access to MicroZAMOD see the model page.
